The Big Day Out is the biggest day of our year. Break free of the confines of your school and join us for a day of delicious food, friendly faces and the most inspiring PD you’ll get this year.

For those of you starting out, it can be daunting. Our First Four Years group provides a supportive place to ask questions, look for resources and strategise.

Middle leaders face unique challenges. Whether this is your first HoD role and you want to discuss how to manage a team, or you’ve done this forever and it’s the new standards on your mind, this is the place for you.

We know the PLD works best when it’s relevant, local and relational. We work as a team to bring you new ideas, the best strategies and a network of people all working together.

Sometimes all you need is coffee. Who are we kidding? That’s a staple, but how about if you pair it with pancakes and good company? Join us for breakfast and get to know us.

Steve Langley is a legendary English teacher in Canterbury, and we are delighted that he has lent his name to our annual flash fiction competition.

A workshop and performance night for young spoken word poets.

Launched in lockdown, 2021, our Poetry Competition is a great way to get your students writing. Together with a set of activities to support your teaching of poetry, this is a combo to turn pupils into poets.

There’s nothing like being up and close and personal with someone whose work you respect. Breakfast with a author allow students to meet, greet and eat with one of the many amazing authors we have in our community.

A literary journal especially for Waitaha students. We are so proud to be able to offer a place for our regional talent to be showcased. We are looking for engaging literary writing (stories, personal essays, poetry) and beautiful art and design from Year 7 to 13 Cantabrians.
