Holiday reading #1

My Post (15) (1).png

These holidays I’ve been reading Martha Well’s Murderbot Diaries – many thanks to Chris Waugh for the recommendation!  I’ve been mourning the death of Iain M. Banks for a number of years now as am gutted there will never be another sci fi novel by this Scottish genius of an author.  So it’s been great to discover a new, prolific writer.  Martha Wells’ novellas are fresh, fun and feisty. The protagonist, a Secunit (a robot whose job is to ensure the security of its clients), doggedly insists that it doesn’t care about humans, yet is one of the most engaging and empathetic characters I’ve read about in a while. This series is perfect for quick, easy holiday reading 😊
